“As Jesus would sit on the Mount of Olives, overlooking Jerusalem, during His morning devotional, this week would be the time when He would need to give His disciples the training needed to endure what was soon to occur. In John chapter 12, we can read the events unfolding towards the Passover Feast. On Sunday the Savior took time out to visit and have dinner with Mary, Martha, and Lazarus, the disciples and the family of Judas of Iscariot. On Monday, Jesus would ride upon the donkey into Jerusalem, being greeted by palm leaves and much rejoicing. Then it was about this time in the week, while Jesus was speaking about how He was to pave the way to salvation. Jesus said: “Yet a little while is the light with you. Walk while ye have the light, lest darkness come upon you: for he that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth. While ye have light, believe in the light, that ye may be the children of light.” John 12:35. Jesus would further prepare His disciples and friends for this coming Friday and Sabbath, let us do the same as we remember what the Savior of the world has done for us at this time nearly two-thousand years ago.”
